Interview with Rebecca Bollar
Rebecca is another one of our valued Cognitive Trainers who brings laughter to everyone around her. Her upbeat and positive attitude allows her to be the perfect fit for working with the students at Pathfinders Learning.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to make people laugh, as long as my career allows for some silliness I’ll be happy!
What is the best advice you have ever received?
Follow your passion. Stay true to yourself. Never follow someone else’s path- unless you are lost in the woods and you see a path, then by all means, follow that path.
If you could have any super power what would it be?
Time travel! I love history and it would be awesome to witness past events for myself.
What brings you the most joy when working with kids?
All our kids here have bright futures ahead of them and it brings me joy to think that I had a small part in that.
Describe your job in 10 words or less.
Fast paced cognitive training helping people change their lives forever.
Do you volunteer anywhere?
Yes, I volunteer with an organization called Crime Survivors that provides support for people who have fallen victim to crimes.
What would the title of your autobiography be?
Making it Through Life with Sarcasm and Cupcakes.
If you could paint your office any color, what would it be?
Blue-according to color therapy, that’s the most productive color for brain work.
What was the last really good book you read?
I am currently reading Yes, Please by Amy Poehler, and it is amazing. I would definitely recommend it!
What was your all time best Halloween costume?
Last year I was a zombie- I had so much fun covered in fake blood. The best part was pretending I was going to feast on my friends for dinner!
What’s a fear you are proud to have overcome?
As a child I was terrified of heights. I am so glad I was able to overcome it last year when I visited the Empire State Building.
Who was your most influential school teacher and why.
An acting teacher I had during my first year of college taught me so much about hard work, patience and perseverance.
You can find Rebecca working with the students around the office and assisting them with the activities of their training. Her fun and outgoing personality always has the students full of excitement and laughter, along with keeping their motivation level high!
