Sheryl is a Cognitive Trainer here at Pathfinders Learning, and we are happy to have her as an enthusiastic addition to our family. Her kindness and patience with the students is admirable and she never fails to come into work with a smile on her face.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An astronaut or a fiction writer.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
“Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you.”
If you could have any super power what would it be?
Ever seen the show “Heroes?” I would want Peter’s power… which is the ability to absorb all other super powers.
What brings you the most joy when working with kids?
When I make them smile, and seeing them grow in healthy and joyful ways.
Describe your job in 10 words or less.
Cognitive, fun, fast-paced, engaging, INTERESTING, joyful, growing and enhancing.
Do you volunteer anywhere?
I occasionally volunteer at my church!
If you could paint your office any color, what would it be?
Probably a light lavender or a sky blue with mountains.
What was the last really good book you read?
The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Cecilia and also Phantastes.
What was your all time best Halloween costume?
A fairy!
What is a fear you are proud to have overcome?
Still overcoming Claustrophobia… almost there!
Who was your most influential school teacher and why?
My professor, Dr. Yeager. He could lecture on any postmodern critical theory in literature and convince me for the whole lecture that postmodernism was worth while, because somehow he derived meaning from it.
You can find Sheryl around the office assisting with the children and making them feel at ease each time they walk through the door.
