Interview with Lauren G Bailey
Mrs. Lauren Bailey has been working with the Pathfinders Learning team for over 8 years and continues to inspire others to maintain her same positive attitude everyday she walks into work. Her dedication and passion have molded her into the leader she is today, which is why she holds the position of our Clinical Director.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
If you think it’s expensive to hire a professional, wait till you hire an amateur.
If you could have any super power what would it be?
I’m going to go with Hermione Granger, because I want a time turner to be able to freeze time and get things done!
What brings you the most joy when working with kids?
I really love that ah-ha moment when they overcome something that they never thought they could do before.
Describe your job in 10 words or less.
Fast paced, fulfilling, rewarding, helpful, challenging, exciting and playful.
What would the title of your autobiography be?
Desperately Seeking Balance.
If you could paint your office any color, what would it be?
I want to be exciting and say sparkly, but I also want to be boring and say grey, so one of the two!
What was the last really good book you read?
I’m in the middle of reading the book, Leaders Eat Last, and it sounds self deprecating, but its actually a motivational book. I think it helps you think about how to support your team by helping them feel nurtured and cared for.
Do you volunteer anywhere?
Yes, at the Dana point and San Clemente animal shelter called, the Pet Project Foundation. I am in the cat room and I help place homeless cats in their forever homes.
What was your all time best Halloween costume?
I dressed up as a cat and wore the cone of shame. If you have never worn a cone of shame I recommend you try it, because it will change your empathy for your pet!
What’s a fear you are proud to have overcome?
I am happy to have overcome my fear of needles, injections and blood draws. Now I donate blood pretty regularly.
Who was your most influential school teacher and why?
Hmm, I am fortunate to have had a lot of amazing teachers, but I’m going to go with my 5th grade teacher Mrs. Brickey. She was great because she had high expectations of us, but still made things fun and she was very approachable. She helped us to succeed without taking ourselves too seriously.
You can find Mrs. Bailey lending a helping hand around the office, while making sure our business operates as smoothly and efficiently as possible. She is the head of our wonderful clinicians and continues to be a significant part of our success here at Pathfinders Learning.
